Dizziness has several possible causes, and each one is treated differently. We test the inner ear, vision, and balance systems to find the source.
Diagnosed with positional testing and treated with repositioning maneuvers.
Gaze stabilization and habituation training for dizziness that hasn't cleared on its own.
Balance and fall-risk training that keeps active older adults steady and confident.
I started as an athletic trainer in 1999 and became a licensed physical therapist in 2002. For more than 20 years I've treated orthopedic and sports injuries, from post-op knees and shoulders to athletes working their way back to the field, the mat, or the court. I opened Bespoke because the insurance-driven model doesn't leave time to do this job right. Here, every session is one-on-one with me. I assess how you move, not just where it hurts, and build the plan around what you need to get back to.

SFMA and FMS testing show the movement problem behind the symptom.

Dry needling, manual therapy, and targeted loading, chosen for your case.

Measurable goals at every phase, ending with a full return to your sport or activity.

Dizziness, spinning, and feeling off-balance are some of the most frustrating symptoms to live with, and they often get brushed off. Many causes are inner-ear and balance-system problems that respond well to targeted physical therapy. At Bespoke, vestibular assessment and treatment are done one-on-one by Lou Campasano, PT, ATC, a licensed physical therapist since 2002, at our clinic inside X-Zen Sports on East North Street.
Your first visit is a full evaluation: your history, eye-movement and positional testing, balance testing, and a neck screen. That tells us which part of the system is causing the symptoms. Treatment depends on the cause. It can include repositioning maneuvers for BPPV (often helpful in one to a few visits), gaze-stability and habituation exercises, balance training, and manual therapy for the neck. You'll leave with a short home program and clear guidance on what to avoid and what to keep doing.
Sudden severe dizziness with slurred speech, facial droop, weakness, double vision, or the worst headache of your life is an emergency. Call 911. Lou will also refer you to your physician if your evaluation suggests something outside physical therapy.
Many common causes, especially BPPV, respond very well to physical therapy. BPPV is often treated with repositioning maneuvers, and many people improve within one to a few visits. Other causes need gaze and balance exercises over several weeks.
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo happens when tiny calcium crystals in the inner ear move into the wrong canal. It causes brief spinning with certain head movements, like rolling over in bed or looking up.
South Carolina allows you to see a physical therapist without a referral for an evaluation and a period of treatment. If your symptoms suggest something else, Lou will send you to the right provider.
It depends on the cause. BPPV often clears in a few visits, while recovery after an inner-ear infection or concussion usually takes several weeks of progressive exercise.
