Injury Prevention Programs Built on Movement Screening

Most injuries show up in how you move before they show up as pain. The Functional Movement Screen and SFMA find mobility limits, stability gaps, and side-to-side differences, then we build a program to fix them.

Individual Screens

Functional Movement Screen for athletes and active adults: $90, or $125 with correctives.

Corrective Program

A written program that targets your weak links and fits into your warm-ups and training.

Re-Test Checkpoints

Scheduled re-screens show what changed and what to work on next.

Meet Lou Campasano, PT, ATC

I started as an athletic trainer in 1999 and became a licensed physical therapist in 2002. For more than 20 years I've treated orthopedic and sports injuries, from post-op knees and shoulders to athletes working their way back to the field, the mat, or the court. I opened Bespoke because the insurance-driven model doesn't leave time to do this job right. Here, every session is one-on-one with me. I assess how you move, not just where it hurts, and build the plan around what you need to get back to.

Injury Prevention Programs in Greenville, SC

Most injuries give a warning first: a hip that won't rotate, an ankle that's stiffer on one side, a squat that shifts to the left. Those patterns rarely hurt at first, which is why they get ignored until they turn into a strain, a tendon problem, or a knee that finally gives. Injury prevention at Bespoke finds those patterns early and fixes them before they cost you a season or a training block.

Every screen is done one-on-one by Lou Campasano, PT, ATC, a certified athletic trainer since 1999 and a licensed physical therapist since 2002, with FMS Level 2 and SFMA certifications.

Who it's for

  • Athletes heading into a season who want to know where they're vulnerable
  • Runners, lifters, CrossFit and BJJ athletes with a history of "the same thing keeps flaring up"
  • Active adults coming back to training after time off
  • Anyone finishing rehab who wants to lower the chance of re-injury
  • Parents of young athletes who want a baseline before a busy season

How it works

1. Screen. The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) scores seven basic movement patterns and flags pain, limits, and left-right differences. If something hurts or looks off, the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) breaks it down to find the cause.

2. Correct. You get a short, targeted corrective program: usually a handful of mobility and stability drills that fit into your warm-up instead of adding an hour to your day.

3. Re-test. Scheduled re-screens show what improved and what to work on next, so the program changes as you do.

Why screening matters

Two of the most consistent risk factors for injury in sport are a previous injury and side-to-side asymmetry. A screen won't predict every injury, but it shows the weak links you can actually change, and gives you and your coach a baseline to compare against if something does happen.

Injury prevention FAQs

What is the Functional Movement Screen (FMS)?

The FMS is a set of seven movement tests, including a deep squat, hurdle step, and in-line lunge, scored to show mobility limits, stability problems, and side-to-side differences. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes.

What's the difference between the FMS and the SFMA?

The FMS is a screen for people without pain. The SFMA is a more detailed assessment used when a movement is painful or limited, to find which joint or tissue is driving the problem.

Can a movement screen prevent injuries?

No screen can guarantee you won't get hurt. It identifies risk factors you can change, like limited mobility and asymmetry, so you can address them before they turn into injuries.

How often should I get re-screened?

Most people re-test after 4 to 6 weeks of corrective work, then at the start of each season or training block.

Do you work with teams?

Yes. Ask on your discovery call about screening for teams, gyms, and groups.
