Rest alone rarely resolves lingering concussion symptoms. We assess the vestibular, visual, neck, and exertion-tolerance systems, then treat the ones that aren't recovering.
A full look at vestibular, visual, neck, and exertion tolerance to find what's still off.
Treatment aimed at the systems that aren't recovering, instead of more rest.
A stage-by-stage return-to-play protocol, coordinated with your physician.
I started as an athletic trainer in 1999 and became a licensed physical therapist in 2002. For more than 20 years I've treated orthopedic and sports injuries, from post-op knees and shoulders to athletes working their way back to the field, the mat, or the court. I opened Bespoke because the insurance-driven model doesn't leave time to do this job right. Here, every session is one-on-one with me. I assess how you move, not just where it hurts, and build the plan around what you need to get back to.

SFMA and FMS testing show the movement problem behind the symptom.

Dry needling, manual therapy, and targeted loading, chosen for your case.

Measurable goals at every phase, ending with a full return to your sport or activity.

Most people recover from a concussion, but lingering headaches, dizziness, fogginess, and trouble with exercise can drag on for weeks when nobody guides the recovery. Bespoke helps athletes and active adults get through it with a structured plan: test what's still affected, treat it, and return to sport, school, and work step by step. Care is one-on-one with Lou Campasano, a certified athletic trainer since 1999 and licensed physical therapist since 2002 who has managed sports concussions for more than 20 years.
Exercise tolerance. Guided aerobic exercise testing shows how much activity you can handle without bringing symptoms back, and becomes the base of your plan.
Vestibular and visual systems. Eye-movement, balance, and motion-sensitivity testing, followed by targeted exercises for what's off.
The neck. Whiplash often comes with a concussion, and neck problems can drive headaches and dizziness. We assess and treat it hands-on.
Graded return to play. A step-by-step progression from light activity to full contact, coordinated with your physician, athletic trainer, and coach.
Worsening headache, repeated vomiting, seizures, increasing confusion, slurred speech, or weakness after a head injury need emergency care right away. Concussion rehab starts after you've been evaluated by a physician.
Current guidance is a short period of relative rest, then a gradual return to light activity as symptoms allow. Long periods of complete rest can slow recovery. Follow your physician's instructions, and we'll guide the progression from there.
Many people feel better within a few weeks. If symptoms last longer, targeted rehab for exercise tolerance, balance, vision, and the neck can help.
Yes, including high school athletes. A parent or guardian is involved, and we coordinate with the athlete's physician and school athletic trainer.
Yes. Dizziness and motion sensitivity after a concussion often come from the vestibular system or the neck, and both respond to targeted physical therapy.
